That "Extra Mile"…
"People often talk about going that "extra mile". I held an open house during a warm Sunday afternoon. People seemed more intent on enjoying the lazy sunny day than looking for a home. Opens are typically from 2:00 to 4:00, but come 4:00 o'clock I only had one visitor. With the blessing of the vendors I stayed longer. I wanted to sell the home. At 5:30 another visitor came. At 6:15 a third visitor came. At 6:45 I ended the open and drove to collect my signs, when I noticed an approaching car. I drove up and asked, "Are you looking for the open house?" To my amazement he was. I showed him the home, and later that evening the home was sold. The vendors were ecstatic! The purchaser, equally so."
